Generally I don't sell bucklings out of FF (sire or dam! - buck needs to prove himself as well) but once in a while a proven buck will produce a wonderful buckling out of a nice FF and I may consider that buckling for evaluation as a buck prospect IF the doe's lines have proven themselves (her sisters, dam, etc.) and IF the dam has a nice udder, superior conformation and behaves as I expect / demand.  Please don't hesitate to let me know if there's a doe or bloodline you are really looking to get a buck out of but please don't be offended if I refuse to sell a buckling out of a FF and ask you to wait for a repeat breeding if I think more evaluation is necessary.

One of my pet peeves is someone who will sell a buckling out of unproven lines as a "future herd sire" and perpetuates breeding of mediocre (or worse) animals simply to have their herd name out there.  Any animal I sell as a buckling will have to prove himself as well as have all the "right names" on paper AND have wonderful sisters, mother, etc.  This includes in the pail, not just the show ring.  And I do have a buck (Harvey) that is in high demand to produce sweet, gentle pet babies (that also look wonderful and will be seen in the ring starting Summer 2007) so to me he has 'proven' himself as a producer but I still don't sell bucklings by him until I have had a chance to see his daughters produce milk and babies; Midnight is his first daughter to freshen and WOW we were impressed - she's quite an improvement over her dam so we are encouraged by Harvey's contributions and are watching Meri (Tiny Colors All American) closely.  UPDATE: Meri has just given us two very gorgeous daughters by Take Heart Blueberry Wine on the 11th of March (both for sale) and Meri's udder is absolutely fantastic so far!  Check the For Sale page for pictures of these girls, Harvey's granddaughters.

We're setting down our breeding schedule for Fall and looking forward already to next year's babies.  Before we do that, though, we do have ONE registered (and several unregistered purebred and mixed-breed, small, medium and large) doe that just gave us kids or are due in the next week or two.  Desertwinds Mirage (Copper Penny Piper x Covenant Kids Lady Minervia *D) gave us three gorgeous kids by Take Heart Skedaddle (Goodwood KW Frasier x Foothill Ranch Feather Dancer).  There's one polled boy that really has what it takes to stay a buck, at least for now, and two very flashy sisters; all three with tons of chocolate, white, some roaning and one girl with black to accent it all.  One of the girls is also polled and the other will be disbudded.  All are structurally correct and should have their mother's good udder as well as the genetics from Dad who is a tad overheight for one of the registries but is very sharp and angular which I think makes him worth keeping in the breeding pool (he has the best shoulders and elbows!).  He is the polled parent and that's a bonus.  For more info on these three kids and on ALL the babies please drop me an email and watch the "what's new" page for pictures.
